The fourth day of the BIOTIN İzmir Event featured the Meet the Entrepreneur session on September 11, which brought together fellows with successful founders from the biotechnology and innovation ecosystem.
The event hosted Prof. Dr Devrim Pesen Okvur, founder of INITIO Cell, and Dr. Oğuz Can Işık, founder of INNORARE, who shared their personal entrepreneurial journeys and professional experiences in translating scientific discoveries into impactful biotech ventures.
Through their inspiring talks, participants gained valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of academic entrepreneurship, the process of building a biotech startup, and the key skills required to navigate the intersection between science, innovation, and business development.
The session encouraged fellows to think beyond the laboratory, fostering a deeper understanding of how scientific research can create real-world value and contribute to societal and technological progress.
